Front- Triangle

Link: http://fontstruct.fontshop.com/fontstructions/show/10058

I use two different right triangles and small square to make this front. Every place where two differnt direction triangles meets, I will use a squre to substitute. However, for some place, I still use square instead of triangle even though it’s not a place where two differnt direction triangles meet, because i think it will look better.

I try to make every front in same size, but it’s really hard. Because  the turning and the i can’t draw only half square (the background square) and change the size of the bricks.

What I learn this quater

Great, I totally forget to write learning log since midterm.

However, I still remember what did I learn during past 3 monthes throught my homework diary.

First thing we start to learn is how to write a vignette. The first vignette was base on a room in my house and describe three people inside the room. Another vignette is use two pictures of people and one picture of place to create dialogues and setting for them and write a short vignette. It’s really difficult because you have to create everything yourself.

Second thing we do is the oral history. I interview my dad and ask for his overseas student life. It’s quite nervous while I was interview my father but it’s also intersting to know my father’s past. I doesn’t let him read my final draft because it’s kind of embarress to let him know what I write.

Another big assignment is the short story. This is so difficult because you really need to create everyhing. Luckly, I use a news to help me. This news is that a Japaness mother kills another kids because she thinks that this kid is compete with her child. I base on this story to write my story “Conscience”. It took me a long time because you will always get confuse by all characters you have and the personality you set.

Also, we learn a lot of gramma. We learn differnet phrases, pronoun, adjective, averb, object and direct object. These are so hard and I automatically bumb the gramma test. I can’t identify them when they are all in one sentence.

We also learn a lot of prefix, base world and suffix. They are quite helpful when you need to identify a word you don’t know. But they are all too similar and it’s hard to memorize.

I finish all my honor assignment! God, I read 3 books and write 4 essays!

And we have our newsletter published! It’s really tired to write those newsletter articles because you need yo know what you are going to write and they have to be intersting. And being a publisher is not an east job because I need to learn how to use microsoft publisher.

We watch a movie at the end of the sememster. This movie is quite good and intersting. It’s meaningful and have many thing we can discuss. However, it’s easy to write a drama analysis because it has many themes and details we can discuss.

Second Week Learning Log (9/10~9/14)

Firstly, sorry for the late learning log. I keep forgot to write this

The second week of Expository Writing class was mostly working on the reflective essay. We worked from prewrote the topic and concept of the essay, to produceded the first draft and reversed the essay. Through written a reflective essay, I organized my though and my previous memory that is deep in my mind but never took serious to though before. The streetcleaner really gave me a big shock the moment I saw him but I never thought about him again after i left the street. This reflective essay really helps me reorganized my thought, not only the streetcleaner but also many other memories.

We also learnd about the capitalization. Through rapidly did exercises and discussed, I made clear that when we should use capital and when we shouldn’t.

We learned more base words and it’s really useful because I used it during my AP Biology exam and it helped me got 4 points!

First Week Learning Log (9/3~9/7)

Starting form the first class on expository writing class, I learn at least 10 base roots which are helpful in cutting words down so we can memorize new vocabulary more efficiently rather than just memorize them. Furthermore, writing is not only about telling things directly, it’s more about how to visualize things in a showing way by using sensory details, dialogue or picture to modify the writing more beautiful and interesting. Although writing a beautiful and pompous article is important, write an article with few mistakes is more important. When a how should use capitalism is a common mistake while writing things. Proper understanding about capitalism is also an important work we should work with. So far the expository writing class is helpful, hope we can learn more in the future expository writing class.
